2020 felt longer than it actually was. I’m both surprised and unphased by my Goodreads statistics. I only read 23 books. But I also finished writing one, so I guess that evens out. I felt the pressure to read as the pandemic grew and lockdown occurred. But about two months in, inside my house, I found that reading wasn’t joyous anymore.
I wish for this year to be different.
I hope everyone stays safe and healthy, but also that no book nerd burns out. We’ll be seeing all sorts of reading challenges and pledges this month and I just want everyone to remember that even if all you do is buy a book because it looks pretty, or read one chapter and put it down, that’s okay.
